So I finally have a booting system with video, Radeon 9250, etc. Well, I've searched for how to enable sound, but with a 2.6.34.x kernel, I am unable to get the module to load for sound to load. I've looked and it appears that a forth script is required for sound to work, at least in the past, but I don't see any mention of this script anywhere in the topics I searched. So, what do I need to do to enable sound in this context? Some parts of the fix-up script seem to have become redundant with more recent kernels.

don't use the old (and now deprecated) Device Tree Supplement provided on Genesi website.

Here what you need to have a sound enabled Efika 5200B PowerPC SoC with linux-2.6.34 kernel.
There is also my own kernel config thus tune it for your needs.

So then the efika.forth in the archive is required for sound to work? Are all of those fixups even necessary? The kernel source appears to include its own fixups, so would this just conflict? Unrelated to the sound issue, but, with my radeon 9250, I have slow 2D rendering with the radeon xorg driver. I managed to get DRI to work and glxgears reports ~200 FPS now, however the 2D acceleration seems to be broken. If I move windows around really fast with the mouse, they lag behind the cursor and the CPU usage goes up to 50% or higher. Is there anything I can do to optimize this?

yes, it is. Actually all those fixups are needed to be able to work with the "current style" used by linuxppc kernel developers for the generic 5200b SoC platform. There isn't a specific mantainer for the only Efika board.

You can read more about Efika's linux kernel sound module here on Power Developer forum.
